Canadian Song Conference
Canadian Song Conference (CSC) takes place from May 23-26, 2018. The CSC will include panels, workshops, and many top industry professionals from across Canada and beyond discussing not only songwriting but many other facets of the business of music, creating, and maximizing revenue streams, with a particular focus on licensing, publishing, royalties, and rights organizations, as well as scoring and composing for a variety of projects and mediums. Music PEI is currently building the components of CSC and promises a week of inspiring and informative sessions. We are open to your feedback. If there are specific topics you would like to see included, please email

The 2018 Canadian Songwriter Challenge will run in conjunction with CSC. Submissions will be open from December 15th 2017 till January 19, 2018. This unique project pairs PEI songwriters with peers from across Canada to collaborate and co-write, culminating with presentations of the collaborations to delegates in an exclusive Listening Session.

Collaborations from the 2017 Canadian Songwriter Challenge can be found on Soundcloud, featuring:

  • Meaghan Blanchard (PEI) & Gabrielle Papillon (NS)
  • Andrew Waite (PEI) & Ross Neilsen (SK)
  • Rachel Beck (PEI) & Jordan Alexander (ON)
  • Dennis Ellsworth (PEI) & Tyler Gilbert (SK)

Additional Listening Sessions will be available for Music PEI members who wish to present their music to the delegates. Music PEI began to expand this type of “showcase” in 2017 with great success. This opportunity will be open for submissions to any members who have professionally recorded original product that could be used by music supervisors for film, TV, commercials, video games or other visual products. Successful applicants will be selected by a panel of jurors. Submissions for these additional Listening Sessions will be open from January 5th until the 31st, 2018.

Music PEI will announce more details as they are available.
