Four trains, having travelled from different tracks, from different times and places, converge at a crossroads. At the heart of this crossroads is Old Stone Station. Although their cargo varies and paths unique, they find themselves here, on a journey down tracks previously laid before them, leading to a destination not yet realized.

Blake Crockett and Jon Dykerman grew up and spent their formative years in Western Prince Edward Island. Although they both played together in the high school band, what they were practicing on guitar at home was very different. They both went to different colleges where Blake played country music while Jon studied jazz guitar. In college, Blake met Matt Praught, a fellow musician, and the two began jamming and playing open mic nights at their local university pub. After college, when they wanted to expand their jam group Blake called on his old schoolmate Jon and the three men quickly developed a strong musical chemistry. The next step on their journey was a long search for the ever elusive drummer. After some time and one lucky tip, veteran drummer Dave Ball joined up and Old Stone Station emerged.

Since then, the band has written a catalogue of truthful, and at times, hard rocking country songs that touch on themes like true love, harsh breakups, small town feuds and rural hardships. Although listed as a country band, the men take every opportunity to mix in flashes of their own musical upbringing such as Dave’s hard pounding fills, Matt’s fluid chugging bass lines, Jon’s intricately melodic guitar solos or Blake’s outlaw country voice. Old Stone Station represents a crossroads for resident and bordering country music fans alike and welcomes any opportunity to push the borders of the genre.

Old Stone Station released their debut album Western Road in October 2012, and it is available at Back Alley Music in Charlottetown, The Albert & Crown Pub and Saunders Variety both in Alberton and from the band directly.

The guys can be found playing local bars and events in Charlottetown and in Western PEI, and branching out to other areas of the Maritimes in 2013.
