Funding Approved for ECMAs
Music PEI has received funding for their ECMA Opportunity Enhancement Initiative 2007. If you are a PEI artist who will be performing in an official ECMA showcase or have been nominated for an ECMA award, you may be eligible to receive funding through this initiative and its various components.
In addition, you may qualify for some support through this program if you are selected to perform at the Music PEI showcase during ECMA weekend in Halifax NS and have not been nominated for anything or do not have an official ECMA showcase.
The first step is to fill out a questionnaire available by contacting [email protected] and return it to Music PEI by e-mail no later than Tuesday January 30, 2007. In your response please also indicate what unofficial showcases, if any, you have lined up or anticipate having lined up for ECMA weekend in Halifax. Return the completed form to [email protected]
It should be noted that some artists have already been contacted since they qualified automatically for program support because they were ECMA nominees and official showcase artists. The priority of this program is to support our ECMA recognized artists for that year and to help ensure they deliver world class showcase performances at the ECMAs.
The program is also designed to support emerging artists who may be next year?s showcase artists and nominees through the Music PEI showcase and their own unofficial showcases throughout the weekend.
