Grant’s third album, The Beautiful Wild, released in September 2012, captures finding the courage to lose oneself in the wilderness. The critically acclaimed album features several east coast musicians, notably Islanders Kinley Dowling, Rose Cousins and Dan Ledwell.

JUNO nominee Grant’s intuitive ability to express emotion has helped to define her as one of Canada’s premier vocalists. Grant, who currently lives in Halifax, is pleased to be receiving the award.

“I am honoured to be an islander and to be part of such a vibrant musical community. Music PEI is a wonderful organization and I really look forward to all of the performances happening this week. I’m so happy to be part of it.”

Music PEI is also excited to announce a few of the performers for the 12th Annual Music PEI Awards Gala, presented by Ticketpro, which takes place February 2, 2013 at the Homburg Theatre in Charlottetown. Celebrating the best of the Island’s music scene, the gala, hosted by Canadian radio personality Grant Lawrence, will feature musical performances by Jenn Grant, Tim Chaisson, Two Hours Traffic, Ian Toms Trio and Coyote. More performers to be announced soon. Tickets now on sale at Confederation Centre of the Arts’ box office or online at http://www.confederationcentre.com.
