Music PEI Announces 2013-2014 Board of Directors

Music PEI announced its 2013-2014 Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting in Charlottetown, PE on June 25, 2013.

Welcome and congratulations to newly elected directors Darcy Campbell, Al Douglas, Kinley Dowling, Doug Gallant, Mark Geddes, Steve MacDougall, Shannon Pratt and Hannah Rollwage.

In accordance with Music PEI’s bylaws a director can be appointed to the Music PEI Board to represent the Francophone community. This year’s appointment is Ghislaine Cormier. This is a result of a partnership with the Fédération Culturelle de l’Î.-P.-É.

“Music PEI is very excited with this new and dynamic group of Directors elected to represent our membership. There is excellent representation from many directions including artists, youth, presenters, media, management and gender equality” says Music PEI Executive Director Rob Oakie.

Elections took place in advance of the AGM by the membership of Music PEI.

The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors was also elected and they are::

Shannon Pratt – Vice President
Darcy Campbell – Treasurer
Doug Gallant – Secretary

Music PEI would also like to thank departing directors Michelle Blanchard, Pat Deighan, Jim Hornby, David MacDonald, Fraser McCallum, Hal Mills, Grady Poe and particularly Gordon Belsher, the longest serving Director since Music PEI became an industry association and Treasurer for the past 6 years.

Credit Union Music PEI Week will take place January 24 – February 1, 2014. Credit Union Music PEI Week is an annual event and celebration organized by Music PEI as a critical part of its mission statement. Music PEI is a non-profit member services organization devoted to advancing careers of Island musicians. Music PEI is actively seeking ways to promote, foster and develop artists and the music industry on PEI. The Association acts as an advocate for the Island music industry and a representative at the national table. Music PEI currently has a diverse membership of over 400 that includes musicians, songwriters, music industry professionals and music lovers.
