Music Prince Edward Island is thrilled to announce the full line-up for the inagural Credit Union May Run Music Festival, taking place from May 14-17 in Charlottetown.

Joining previously announced acts such as Stars, Dan Mangan, and Murray McLauchlan are Prince Edward Island based artists including Tim Chaisson, Paper Lions, Coyote, and Meaghan Blanchard. The complete list is as follows:

Music PEI has partnered with Creative Saskatchewan to present The Sask Music Showcase. The stage offers a diverse Saskatchewan lineup, including acts such as Zachary Lucky, Jeffery Straker, Megan Lane, and The Pistol Whips.

“Following the great response to Saskatchewan at last year’s PEI 2014 celebrations we are pleased to introduce four of our best musical artists to the vibrant musical markets of Atlantic Canada,” says Creative Saskatchewan CEO, J.P. Ellson.

Other artists performing at the Credit Union May Run Music Festival from across the country include Newfoundland’s The Novaks; Nova Scotia’s The Spinney Brothers, and Machete; Quebec’s Stars, Notre Dame de Grass, and Plants and Animals; Ontario’s Donovan Woods and Murray McLauchlan; Manitoba’s Small Glories; Saskatchewan’s Jay Semko, Alberta’s Tim Hus, and British Columbia’s Dan Mangan.

“We’re really excited about bringing some top Canadian acts to PEI for the Credit Union May Run Music Festival,” says Andrew King, President of the Music PEI Board of Directors. “Though our real focus is on our homegrown talent, this simultaneously gives our performers a chance to play to larger audiences than they often would and take advantage of the opportunity.”

The Canadian Song Challenge takes place from May 11-12. The result of support from Bell Media and a partnership between Music PEI and five provincial music industry associations, including Music BC, Alberta Music, SaskMusic, Manitoba Music, and Music Ontario, it pairs an artist from each of the five represented provinces with a PEI act to write together for two days. The pairings include:

Bell Aliant’s Community One channel, which offers live sports and music events, and local news in Atlantic Canada, is this year’s title supporter of the Canadian Song Conference. Taking place from May 13-14, The Bell Aliant Canadian Song Conference, brings together leading music industry professionals from across North America to explore the art and commerce of songwriting. Newly announced panels include:

– Melody Makers: Memorable Jingles for TV & Radio

Music PEI is holding a raffle for a six string acoustic guitar or a four string acoustic tenor guitar handcrafted by PEI luthier, Adam Johnston. Tickets will be available at all venues starting on May 13th and will cost $5.00 each or five for $20.00. The draw will take place on May 17th.

Ticket Information:

All proceeds from the festival go toward Music PEI’s efforts in assisting artists in developing careers.
