Achievement in Jazz or Classical Award Handed out on Saturday Night
Music PEI kept the celebrations going during May Run Music Festival on Saturday night with a number of concerts and showcases happening in Charlottetown and Summerside.Performances across the province included the first ever classical concert hosted by Music PEI.
“The opportunity to partner with the PEI Symphony Orchestra to deliver our first ever Classical Concert as a part of May Run Music Festival was a dream come true. The music industry on P.E.I. is diverse and continues to grow and evolve every year. It is very exciting.” says Music PEI Executive Director Rob Oakie. “Music PEI looks forward to continuing to develop our relationship with the classical community on the Island.”
The Achievement in Jazz or Classical award was handed out at the Classical Show presented by PEI Symphony Orchestra at the Florence Simmons Hall on Saturday night with Atlantic String Machine walking away with the hardware. Twenty four awards will be handed out at the newly created Music PEI Awards Party on Sunday afternoon leaving two awards, Group Recording and Album of the Year to be presented at the grand finale to May Run Music Festival, the Closing Concert presented by Cavendish Beach Music Festival, this Sunday night at the Delta PEI Convention Centre.
