Song Commission Competition
Nuwelcom is a made-in-PEI technology company providing real time, locally relevant and trusted information to help newcomers contribute to their new communities. This app is a great way for businesses to reach Islanders without the challenges associated with social media including privacy concerns. All news and listings for services, events, meetings, and calls for volunteers are delivered to your phone for free automatically translated into eleven different languages. Nuwelcom is committed to never collecting our users’ data, nor tracking, tracing or selling their personal information.

Competition
Music PEI is very happy to partner with Nuwelcom for an exciting opportunity for PEI artists. A new feature Nuwelcom is launching is called NuTOC – Talks about Organizations in your Community. This is a series of videos that highlight leaders from organizations across PEI. This intimate series offers an insider perspective of what these people do for the community and the interviews are conducted by newcomers.

We are seeking to commission an artist to write and record an original theme song for this new feature and that is where you come in! The selected finalist will write an original song after being selected that will be featured in each video and will serve as NuTOC’s official theme song. We are offering a non-exclusive license fee of $2,500 to the winner which will include the cost of recording. The competition will start on March 26th at noon and all submissions must be in by April 9th at 6:00PM. The winner, selected by our creative team, will have an opportunity to perform this brand new song at our Grand Opening, with a date to follow.

We are encouraging everyone to reach out and ask their favourite musician to sign up and let their song become the theme song for PEI’s hottest new tech start-up company. We are so excited to hear our new theme song and cannot wait for you to be a part of it. Imagine what would happen if you collaborated on the song with a newcomer!

The winner will receive $2,500 plus royalties for their song to cover any studio recording fees plus the opportunity to perform live for our Grand Opening!
