Music PEI is now hiring five people to assist in the delivery of multiple major projects. Successful applicants will have an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of Music PEI Week, Canadian Folk Music Awards, and the Canadian Song Conference.

Team Leader (1 Position) FILLED
Music PEI is seeking a team leader to work with the Skills Work Experience PEI staff and act as mentor and facilitator. The Team Leader must possess and have demonstrated leadership skills, had experience with event coordination and a strong connection or previous work in the music industry.
**This position does not require EI eligibility and the salary is EI insurable earnings.
Start date: Dec 6, 2021
End date: June 10th, 2022
Duration: 27 weeks
Pay: $19.00/hour

Work Experience Program Position Contracts (4 Positions)
This project is funded by Skills PEI and the Work Experience PEI Program. In order to be eligible, applicants must be:
– A Canadian resident
– Currently unemployed
– Currently receiving EI, or EI eligible or had an open EI claim in the previous 36 months
An ideal candidate would have some post-secondary education and a connection to the music industry. This experience would help enhance knowledge of the music industry, event organizing, working for a non-profit and create excellent connections and network opportunities within the music industry.

Music PEI Week (March 2022)
Music PEI Week is the annual celebration of the Island music industry. The five-day festival recognizes the remarkable achievements of our local artists and professionals with shows featuring many of the Music PEI Award nominees and special guests.
Canadian Folk Music Awards (April 2022)
The mission of the Canadian Folk Music Awards is to celebrate and promote the breadth and depth of Canadian folk music in all its forms. This event is happening in-person in Charlottetown, PEI.
Start Date: December 6th, 2021
End Date: April 22nd, 2022
Duration: 20 weeks
Pay: $595.00/week

Canadian Folk Music Awards (April 2022)
The mission of the Canadian Folk Music Awards is to celebrate and promote the breadth and depth of Canadian folk music in all its forms. This event is happening in-person in Charlottetown, PEI.
Canadian Song Conference (May 2022)
The Canadian Song Conference has proven to be an excellent professional development and business development event for PEIs music industry. The conference will include panels and workshops designed to assist and encourage growth of PEIs music industry with a focus on developing multiple revenue streams to create a sustainable career.
Start Date: January 24th, 2021
End Date: June 17th, 2022
Duration: 21 weeks
Pay: $595.00/week

Some duties of the above open positions could include:
– Recruiting and managing the volunteers including delegating jobs and scheduling
– Sponsor and artist care
– Event logistics such as ticketing and venues
– Creating performance and soundcheck schedules for concerts
– Communicating information to the artists and the venues
– Developing Conference panels and workshops
– Recruiting speakers and panellists
– Coordinating travel logistics for delegates
– Other duties as required
Music PEI is the non-profit music industry association for the province with a mandate to assist artists and industry professionals to develop careers in the music industry.
These five positions will also assist with additional administrative duties in the Music PEI office as required.
The activities will take place at Music PEIs office located: 115 Richmond Street,
Charlottetown on the third floor of The Guild.
