Summer Employment Opportunity with Music PEI 2023
Music PEI is now hiring a Summer Employee for eight weeks starting June 12th, 2023. The position is funded by Service Canada as part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program and the eligibility requirements are:
- You must be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Contract Length: June 12th, 2023 – August 7th 2023 (Eight weeks)
Compensation: $15/hr for 35hr/week plus 4% vacation pay
Location: Music PEI Office (115 Richmond Street, Charlottetown, PE)
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday
Title: Assistant Event Coordinator
The successful applicant will support Music PEI staff with planning the 2023 Showcase PEI. Some of the tasks are event planning logistics, delegate coordination, booking travel/ accommodations, collecting information from artists, etc.
An ideal candidate will have a connection to the music industry, be proficient in digital communication, sending and receiving emails, have strong organizational skills, and be familiar with Google Workspace. Preference will be given to (but not limited to) someone in or entering post-secondary school with a background in music or the music business and who has an interest in pursuing a career in music.
