In 2008, Music PEI held the initial buyers conference in Charlottetown and invited 15 buyers from across Canada, the US and Japan. It has since grown to include over 50 delegates. Over 350 domestic and international delegates have attended Showcase PEI including many types of music industry professionals from more than a dozen different countries around the globe.

Showcase PEI has created more than $4,000,000 in work for PEI artists through business development opportunities with a focus on export and international opportunities. The results have meant performances at some of the premier festivals, venues and events around the world and across Canada.

Showcase PEI is where the heartbeat of Prince Edward Island’s music scene meets the sharp eyes and ears of industry insiders. Each year, this boutique industry event with an international reputation gathers booking agents, festival curators, and venue programmers from across the globe to discover the Island’s most compelling artists.

Think of it as PEI’s sonic calling card—live showcases in polished venues, candid networking sessions, and the kind of one-on-one moments that can spark careers. For delegates, it’s a front-row seat to the raw, undeniable talent brewing on Canada’s smallest province. For artists, it’s a chance to step onto a bigger stage.

Showcases take place in both the afternoon and the evening on a Monday and Tuesday. Each year approximately 20 PEI artists are showcased and it is a diverse collection of styles and genres. Everything from pop, rock, alternative, roots, folk, Celtic, world, jazz and more are presented. There is world class music here being created on PEI by a committed group of emerging artists.
