A native of the Acadian rural village of Rustico in PEI, Lennie Gallant has recorded eleven albums (English & French), which have won him a host of awards and nominations from the JUNOs, the East Coast Music Awards, the Canadian Folk Music Awards and Les Prix Éloizes.

A prolific songwriter, more than 30 artists have recorded his songs including Measha Bruggergosman, Ode à l’Acadie, The Rankins and Jimmy Buffet, to name just a few. His songs have also appeared in feature films, television series, and numerous theatrical productions. Recently, Lennie wrapped up his runaway multimedia hit musical, “Searching For Abegweit -The Island Songs & Stories of Lennie Gallant”, which ran for three sold out seasons in Charlottetown and then toured Atlantic Canada in 2017.

A recipient of the Order of Canada, Lennie is an international touring artist who has represented Canada at songwriter events in Nashville, London and Texas, entertained our troops in Kandahar, performed at Canada Day Events in Washington and London, and on the world stage at the Winter Olympics.

An avid traveler and man of many trades before his music career, Lennie loves telling stories of his past experiences, his pride in his culture, and his rural roots. He has shared the stage with greats such as Jimmy Buffet, Lucinda Williams, Daniel Lanois and Chris Isaak along with many orchestras and symphonies. He has opened for Céline Dion and performed in countless festivals across Canada, the U.S., France, London, Belfast and more.

A quintessential Canadian troubadour, Lennie Gallant has been writing songs about Canada since the day he picked up a guitar. He tells stories through his music that chronicle the lives and showcase the landscape that makes up this amazing country, its rural communities, and their people. This is the description of a Lennie Gallant show in its simplest form.

Gallant is a versatile and charismatic performer who draws in audiences by weaving stories from joy, sorrow, regret, redemption and humor, telling them with finesse and strong emotion.

A fluently bilingual Acadian performer, he can also perform in French upon request.
